These courses are designed to empower HOT volunteers to become part of a Disaster Coordination Team. The courses are available for anyone interested to enhance their knowledge and understanding of OpenStreetMap, no registration required. However, the courses are designed specifically around the activities and skills necessary to successfully operate the HOT Disaster Mapping Program.
To begin, all HOT volunteers interested in joining a team are required to take the Activation Essentials: Explaining the HOT Disaster Mapping Program Course before being eligible for endorsement (able to complete the assignment portion) of the specific role courses.
Anyone can self-enroll in the Activation Essentials as well as the 'basic' role courses (Reporting, Community Care, Partner Liaison, Public Relations, OSM Usability, Validation, Data, Imagery and Tasking). Just click the course title and find the Administration block where the self-enrollment option begins (make sure you are logged-in to your account).
